Flight school management software, from booking to debrief

Flight school scheduling and dispatch

Students book aircraft and instructors on one calendar that knows who is available, which aircraft are airworthy and which students are allowed to fly solo. On the day, the flight line shows every booking, every aircraft out and every flight waiting to be closed.

  • Instructor availability and double-booking checks
  • Overdue maintenance blocks booking and dispatch
  • Students can’t check out solo without a current solo endorsement
  • Cancellation and no-show fees applied automatically

Flight school billing and student accounts

Closing a flight works out the cost, charges the student’s account, credits the instructor and writes the ledger in one step. Students can prepay blocks of time, keep a balance and pay by card through Stripe.

  • Prepaid blocks, balance limits and account aging (0–30, 31–60, 61+ days)
  • PDF statements emailed to students
  • Instructor pay and earnings calculated per pay period
  • Card payments through Stripe Connect

Electronic training records for Part 61 and Part 141

Every flight updates the student’s training record. Instructors grade lessons in a debrief, issue endorsements in the standard AC 61-65 wording and record stage checks, and SkyRes tracks progress toward the 14 CFR 61.109 hours.

  • §61.109 progress from completed flights, including night, cross-country and instrument time
  • Part 61 and Part 141 syllabi with S/P/R/U lesson grades
  • Endorsements, stage checks, student documents and private instructor notes
  • Emails before solo endorsements, medicals and CFI certificates expire

Fleet maintenance tracking

Each aircraft carries its 100-hour, annual, ADs and other items, due by date, tach, landings or cycles. When a flight closes past a limit the aircraft is grounded automatically, and admins and mechanics are reminded by email, push or text.

  • Signed digital maintenance logbook for your mechanics
  • Landings and cycles counted from every flight
  • Squawks reported by pilots after each flight

Reports and a daily list of what needs attention

See aircraft utilization and revenue, instructor hours, cancellations and no-shows, all exportable to CSV. A needs-attention list, also available as a daily email, flags grounded and overdue aircraft, maintenance coming due, expiring medicals and CFI certificates, accounts over their limit and students who haven’t flown lately.

  • Student pipeline from first lesson to checkride
  • School-wide announcements

Frequently asked questions

What does flight school management software do?

It runs the day-to-day of a flight school in one place: aircraft and instructor scheduling, dispatch, student billing, training records and maintenance. SkyRes replaces the separate scheduling tool, spreadsheets and paper training folders.

Does SkyRes work for Part 61 and Part 141 schools?

Yes. You can use a built-in Part 61 or Part 141 syllabus or write your own. Lessons are graded in a debrief after each flight, and stage checks and endorsements are kept on the student’s record.

How does billing work after a flight?

When the flight is closed, SkyRes calculates the aircraft and instructor time, charges the student’s account, credits the instructor and records it in the ledger. Students can prepay, keep a balance or pay by card.

Can students book their own flights?

Yes, from the web or the SkyRes iPhone app. They only see aircraft that are airworthy and instructors who are available, and students without a current solo endorsement can’t book solo.
